You know how you take a photo of something and when you look back on that photograph you remember the feelings and the situation surrounding that photo. This is one of those photo's for me. I remember two Florida's ago (we go every year and this is how I remember the year) my husband and I sat on this beach in Palm Coast and talked about the importance of time invested in work and time invested in life. I felt like I had invested so much time in work that my life was going by while I watched from my office window. It was then that I made some decisions.....decisions that have proved to be positive. I'm still working on my balancing act but I'm getting there.....

I couldn't help but watch this lady as she walked down the street pushing everything she owned in a grocery cart. She had layers and layers of clothing on (including the rain poncho that you see here)...almost like it was the only place she could store it all :(

When I took this pic (in NYC) I took it because of the bike...how it was stripped of everything yet still locked up. It wasn't until later that I realized this poor stripped bike's backdrop was an obviously "nice" car....the two just don't seem to go together...

So I was in New York City many years ago....back when I was shooting film. I took two different pics of two different "street people" and neither one of them turned out. Not over or under exposed just not on the film at all....as if I never even took them. I still to this day think of those two men......
A couple of years ago I was back in NYC and took this photo. This person was so young! Just a boy really. If we choose to see it, it's a reminder that pain and struggles exist outside of ourselves.

Ok, this isn't even a good photograph! (and I know I'm taking a risk even having a blog like this....but risk is good....it allows us to grow and become better people and to experience new things..) I took it with the little point and shoot Canon that I keep in my purse (in case of such occasions!) ... so I was at a concert and the lady in the car next to me stepped out and I looked at the puzzled look on my friends face...sure enough in 92 degree weather...Is this what they refer to when they say "socks and sandles???" is that back in??

I have decided to take my Blog in a different direction......there is no point in repeating what is on facebook so please refer to facebook for any current wedding info. or photo's.

I think I would like to use my Blog for why I fell inlove with photography to begin with....the love of photography! Capturing inspiring, interesting, beautiful...not so beautiful "stuff".... the stuff I used to photograph before I got paid to do it :) It's funny how things change once they turn into a paycheck. I never want my job to feel like a paycheck so I want to find new ways to be creative and explore what I love.
I'd love to take you on the journey with me.....there are no guarentees! What you see is what you get (but that's my motto anyway!!)

I had an awesome time at Kaylin and Anthony's wedding. It was a nice day for us "winterized" Canadians but for Anthony who was from Trinidad where the average winter temps are 79 degrees it was beyond chilly! He braved the cold all the while telling his new bride how beautiful she was......

Yesterday I had a great day at Hinterbrook Winery in Niagara on the Lake photographing owners Phil and Charlotte. Hinterbrook is opening in May 2011 be sure to check it out.
I was able to do a little wine tasting post shoot and was impressed to say the least. Check back soon as I will be posting some of their family pics here on the blog :)

Well, here is my first official post...that other one, that was Brenda :)
I can't believe how much work has gone into this website! It was way more then I imagined but I can tell you that I'm so proud of it and really think that you will enjoy it as well.....
